Tagline: HAMLET on the Jersey Shore, with a touch of STATE OF GRACE and DONNIE BRASCO.
It’s been over ten years since VIC TREVI has been home, back to the Jersey Shore, the place he once vowed never to return to. Back in its heyday it was the summer vacation spot - Asbury Park, Long Branch, Sea Bright, Ocean Grove, and the list goes on. Idyllic. That was a memory ago. Now it is a reminder of a family lost, of betrayal. It’s where Vic ran from to escape the embarrassment of being a TREVI.
After all, it’s not an ideal place to grow up when your mobster father is convicted of racketeering and sent to jail, when your name is smeared all over the news and you’re not proud of your legacy.
Vic comes home four days after his father has been murdered, a mob hit. Now, standing on the boardwalk of Asbury Park, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean, Vic wonders if coming home was the right choice. There are so many questions that still haunt Vic about his father and family. Will he be able to forgive his mother, MARY? Will he reestablish the bond with his UNCLE JOHN that was formed after his father went to jail? And more importantly – will he find any clues to his father’s murder?
As much as home and family seem the same to Vic, things have changed. For one, Uncle John now rules the family that once belonged to his father. After his brother was sent to jail, John raised Vic like his own son. He put the kid through college, through law school – no questions asked. Vic left without a word and never looked back. He didn’t even make it home in time for his father’s funeral. Uncle John wonders why Vic showed up now. He wonders what the kid’s motive is. Is he back to claim the kingdom or to avenge his father’s death? Whatever the reason, John will keep a close eye on him – just to be sure.
All is not as it seems down the Shore. Everyone in the Trevi family has a secret, including Vic.
Vic is an undercover FBI agent positioned to go against the people he calls family. Vic needs to find out the truth about his family before his family finds the truth out about him. He’s caught between the age-old struggle between duty to the law and duty to the people he loves.
The clock ticks as Vic digs deeper, unearthing secrets about his father, mother, uncle, and friends that will change all of their lives forever.
