It’s any business’ model; we all know that. The movie business is no different.
My goal is to make a movie that’s genre specific, with a great story, and compelling characters.
WEST END is that movie. A Mafia movie that shares story points with Shakespeare’s HAMLET and is driven by its characters.
MAFIA sells; the SOPRANO’s has reminded us of that for the last eight years. WEST END transcends the genre in the same way movies like THE GODFATHER, MEAN STREETS, STATE OF GRACE, most recently THE DEPARTED have – all of which rise above the standard “mafia fare”. It’s the romantic dark side of classic family feud stories with modern characters that anyone can relate to.
True to the genre, there is murder and betrayal. But just beneath the surface is an intriguing web of real to life characters caught up in real life family drama.
That’s what makes WEST END a sellable product.
